Banani wins at ASBF

Banani International Secondary School has been participating in the Africa Science Buskers Festival (ASBF), an International Science Fair from Zimbabwe. Its founder Mr Knowledge Chikundi from Zimbabwe started the ASBF in 2017 with sponsorship from the Australian Aid. Last year’s ASBF was held from 22-24th March, 2018 in Lusaka, Zambia. The Buskers had two Categories; Science Innovation and Communications. Banani won the entire category of Science Communications and earned a Scholarship to participate in the Oguzhan Ozkaya Education Karademir Science Engineering Fair (OKSEEF) in Turkey. Ms. Munakombwe accompanied Rose Mwandila and Chisengo Allison the first prize winners at the ASBF to Turkey on 4th June, 2018. The Turkish OKSEF holds in June every year. At the OKSEF, 100s of other brilliant students from all over the world participated. The projects Categorises were Science, Mathematics and Robotics. Banani girls performed very well in the Physics Category and came fourth place. The OKSEF incorporated some tours about Izmir and Ephesus towns, these places have lots of important religious history. The students enjoyed their stay at the Hotel and learnt many things from friends. This trip was very educative and more schools that are Zambian should participate.
